Facilitating Reliable Halal Trade Between the United States and Indonesia

Islamic Services of America (ISA) is actively evaluating the recently announced reciprocal trade framework issued by the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR).

With new provisions addressing Halal certification included in this agreement, ISA is engaging constructively with regulatory bodies in both the United States and Indonesia to help clarify requirements and support effective implementation. Our priority is to promote a streamlined transition that minimizes disruption for the industries and partners we serve. Last year, we signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with BPJPH, and this year we are noticing some positive changes in the reciprocal markets already.

US - Indonesia Reciprocal Trade Agreement.

At ISA, we are committed to supporting international commerce while upholding the highest standards of Halal compliance—ensuring confidence and trust for businesses and consumers around the world.

Regardless of what the final rules and regulations point to, the growth of the Halal consumer in Indonesia points to the growing trend by companies and brands to embrace Halal certification to build market share and brand loyalty over competitors who only approach Halal certification as a regulatory measure, not as a means to address the real and growing needs of the coming generation of global Halal consumers.

Further updates will be shared as our coordination efforts progress. Thank you!
